Original Pyrograph wall art of the famous Flying Scotsman.

The original photo is part of a series of shots taken on a two day trip to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, specifically to photograph this iconic locomotive. The scene here was taken from a photograph of Flying Scotsman running solo up the Beck Hole bank, towards Goathland. This artwork took me about 25 hours to finish, and is drawn on beech-faced plywood.

This artwork measures aprox 430 x 320mm (17" x 12.5").

Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley as an A1 class engine, this 4-6-2 'pacific' locomotive was originally built in 1923 at the Doncaster works for the London and North East Railway (LNER). She underwent a major refit in 1947 at the Doncaster works, and emerged as an A3 class, which is how she remains today. She was mainly used to haul express trains between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh, and was the first steam locomotive to travel at the proven speed of 100mph. Recently emerging from a 10 year, £4.2 million overhaul, at the NRM York, she is now touring the UK.

As with all my artwork, this scene will never be repeated, making it, like all my pyrographs, a one-off. Totally unique and original, and discretely signed by myself.

All pyrographs should be kept out of direct sunlight, as the sun will bleach the wood.
