Original pyrography wall art of a waterfall in Upper Swaledale, North Yorkshire.
This pyrography artwork is drawn from a photograph I took while on holiday in Swaledale, in the Yorkshire Dales. It looks a little like 'fantasy' art, and I keep expecting Gollum to pop up out of the small cave in the back of the pool with a fish in his mouth !
The waterfall is un-named, as far as I can tell, and is on one the many tributaries to the River Swale deep into the moors and a good ways off the usual walking routes. One of the many secret places I find on my wanders. I was particularly attracted to the limestone slabs of the cliff the water tumbles over.
This one took about 9 hours to finish, and measures aprox 320 x 265mm framed.
All pyrographs should be kept out of direct sunlight, as the sun will bleach the wood.
